The MH1005 series are the most popular beds for use in psychiatric care facilities as they include a flatbed base with extremely low ligature risk that is remotely powered by a portable battery pack that only powers the bed when attached via the magnetic quick coupling connector.
All beds have a fixed surround made from a near indestructible compact laminate that contacts the floor when the bed is in use. This leaves the bed with no lift points or capacity to gain access under the bed. When the remote power supply is connected to the bed, it can be raised for bed making / changing and cleaning. With the bed at a raised position, the operator can access the central locking wheel control levers that allow the bed to be easily moved. The underside of the bed is safely contained in a steel box cover, so there is no access to any wiring or working parts of the bed frame or mechanism.
